We take data protection seriously

The protection of your privacy during the processing of your personal data is important to us. When you visit our website, our web servers automatically record the IP address of your Internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the pages on our website you visit, and the date and duration of your visit. This information is absolutely necessary for the technical transmission of the web pages and secure server operation. A personalized evaluation of this data does not take place.

If you send us data via a contact form, this data will be stored on our servers during data backup. We only use your data to process your request. Your data will be treated strictly confidentially and will not be passed on to third parties.

Personal data

Personal data is data concerning your person. This includes your name, address and email address. You do not have to disclose any personal information to visit our website. In some cases, we need your name and address as well as further information to be able to offer you the service you are looking for.

The same applies if we supply you with information material you have requested or if we answer your inquiries. In such cases we will always point this out to you. In addition, we only store data that you have provided to us automatically or voluntarily.

If you use one of our services, we usually only collect the data necessary to provide you with this service. We may ask you for further information, which is voluntary. Whenever we process personal data, we do so in order to provide you with our services or pursue our business goals.

Automatically stored data

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
  • Date and time of the request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested.
  • Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Web browser and operating system used
  • Complete IP address of the requesting computer
  • Transferred data volume

This data will not be merged with other data sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO so that we can improve the stability and functionality of our website.
For reasons of technical security, in particular to prevent attempts to attack our web server, we store this data for a short period of time. It is not possible for us to identify individual persons on the basis of this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymized at domain level by shortening the IP address so that it is no longer possible to establish a connection to the individual user. In addition, the data is processed anonymously for statistical purposes; it is not compared with other data or passed on to third parties, even in excerpts.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. You can edit or revoke these at any time under cookie settings. Cookies are small files that are transferred from an Internet server to your browser and stored on its hard drive. Only the Internet protocol address is stored here - no personal data. This information, which is stored in the cookies, allows you to be automatically recognized the next time you visit our website, thus making it easier for you to use the website. The legal basis for the use of cookies is the legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.

Of course, you can also visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be recognized the next time you visit, you can also refuse to use cookies by changing the settings in your browser to "refuse cookies". This procedure can be found in the operating instructions of your browser. If you reject the use of cookies, however, there may be restrictions in the use of some areas of our website. Marketing and tracking cookies are only used with your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit a DSGVO).

Google Analytics with anonymization function

On our website we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter "Google". Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyze how users use the site.

The information generated by these cookies, such as the time, place and frequency of your visits to the website, along with your IP address, is transmitted to and stored by Google in the United States.

We use Google Analytics with the term "_gat._anonymizeIp" on our website. In this case, your IP address will already be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and thus anonymized.

Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, compile reports on website activity for us and provide other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

Google will not, according to its own specifications, associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website.

In addition, Google offers a deactivation add-on for the most common browsers, which gives you more control over which data Google collects about the websites you visit. The add-on informs the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that no information about the website visit should be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, Google Analytics' deactivation add-on for browsers does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services we may use. For more information on installing the browser add-on, please click on the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

If you visit our site from a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), you will need to click this link instead to prevent Google Analytics from tracking you within this site in the future. This is also possible as an alternative to the browser add-on above. Clicking the link will set an opt-out cookie in your browser that is only valid for that browser and domain. If you delete the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted so that you must click the link again.

If you have consented to Google linking your web and app browsing history to your Google account and using information from your Google account to personalize ads, Google will use your information in conjunction with Google Analytics data to create cross-device remarketing audience lists. Google Analytics first collects your Google-authenticated ID, which is associated with your Google account (i.e., personally identifiable information) on our website. Google Analytics will then temporarily associate your ID with your Google Analytics data in order to optimize our target audiences.

If you don't agree, you can opt out by setting your preferences accordingly in the "My Account" section of your Google account.

Microsoft Bing Ads

On our pages we use the Conversion Tracking of Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA. Microsoft Bing Ads places a cookie on your computer if you have reached our website via a Microsoft Bing advertisement. Both we and Microsoft Bing can thus recognize that someone has clicked on an ad, was redirected to our website, and reached a previously determined target page (conversion page). We only know the total number of users who have clicked on a Bing ad and were redirected to the conversion page. No personal information about the user's identity is shared.

If you do not want information about your behavior to be used by Microsoft as described above, you may opt-out of cookies by setting your browser to disable automatic cookies. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website as well as the processing of this data by Microsoft by clicking on the following link: http://choice.microsoft.com/de-DE/opt-out and stating your objection. Further information on data protection and the cookies used by Microsoft and Bing ads can be found on the Microsoft website at https://privacy.microsoft.com/de-de/privacystatement.

LinkedIn Insight Tag

Our website uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag conversion tool from LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company. This tool creates a cookie in your web browser, which enables the collection of information such as: IP address, device and browser characteristics and page events (e.g. page views). This data is encrypted, anonymised within seven days and the anonymised data is deleted within 90 days. LinkedIn does not share any personally identifiable information with us, but provides anonymised reports on website audience and display performance. In addition, LinkedIn offers retargeting via the Insight Tag. We may use this data to display targeted advertising outside our website without identifying you as a website visitor. For more information about LinkedIn's privacy policy, please refer to the LinkedIn privacy policy. We only use LinkedIn Insight with your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit a DSGVO), provided that you have agreed to this in the cookie banner.

Members of LinkedIn can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes in their account settings. To individually deactivate ("opt-out") the Insight tag on our website click here (https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out).

Safety and security

We have taken technical and administrative security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorized access. All our employees and the service providers working for us are obliged to comply with the applicable data protection laws.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, it is encrypted before it is transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security precautions are subject to a continuous improvement process and our privacy policies are constantly revised. Please make sure that you have the latest version.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to information, correction, deletion or restriction of the processing of your stored data, a right of objection to the processing, a right to data transfer, and a right of complaint in accordance with the requirements of privacy policies.

Right to information:
You can request information from us as to whether and to what extent we process your data.

Right to correction:
If we process your data and it is incomplete or incorrect, you can demand that we correct or complete it at any time.

Right to deletion:
You can demand that we delete your data if we process it unlawfully or if the processing disproportionately interferes with your legitimate protection interests. Please note that there may be reasons that prevent an immediate deletion, e.g., in the case of legally regulated storage obligations.
Irrespective of the exercise of your right to deletion, we will delete your data immediately and completely, insofar as there is no legal or statutory obligation to retain data in this respect.

Right to limitation of processing:
You can demand that we restrict the processing of your data if
  • you dispute the accuracy of the data for a period of time that allows us to verify the accuracy of the data,
  • the processing of the data is unlawful, but you refuse to delete it and instead demand a restriction on the use of the data,
  • we no longer need the data for the intended purpose, but you still need this data to assert or defend legal claims, or
  • you have objected to the processing of the data.

Right to data transfer:
You may request that we make available to you the data that you have provided to us in a structured, common and machine-readable format and that you may transfer this data to another responsible person without our obstruction, provided that
  • we process this data on the basis of an agreement given and revocable by you or for the fulfilment of a contract between us, and
  • such processing is carried out using automated procedures.
If technically feasible, you may request us to transfer your data directly to another responsible party.
Right of objection:
If we process your data for legitimate interest, you may object to this data processing at any time; this would also apply to profiling based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can prove compelling grounds for processing which outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims. You can object to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct marketing at any time without giving any reasons.
Right of appeal:
If you think that we are violating German or European data protection laws when processing your data, please contact us to clarify any questions. Of course, you also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for you, the respective state office for data protection supervision.
If you wish to assert any of the above rights against us, please contact our data protection officer. We may request additional information to confirm your identity.
